I am originally from Jelenia Gora, Poland and have lived in United States for 4 years.
Since my early years the question of my future university studies and then a profession was very important to me. I have studied at the respected Adam Mickiewicz University rated 3rd in the country. I graduated with the honors, receiving U.S. equivalence of Bachelor of Arts degree with major in Geography and a Master of Arts in Geography with an emphasis in Environmental Planning and Protection.
In 2005, after fulfilling all requirements in the Teacher Education Program at Adam Mickiewicz University I was granted a License to teach in Poland. I worked as a geography teacher at a local high school in Poznan. Teaching geography expended my passion to travel and enriched my character in abilities to see the unseen.
Since I moved to United States in 2007, I did not want to stop on what I achieved in Poland, but to continue my graduate studies in U.S. I had to adapt myself for the new culture and language as quick as possible, so my knowledge of English language helped me a lot. I found myself a quick learner and even the fact that I had to study and teach the subjects in English haven’t become an obstacle.
I am very enthusiastic about foreign languages and English particularly. I have been studying foreign languages simultaneously with my academic career at university and at private schools. I began studying English in primary school and I am now a proficient speaker of this language. German since high school, and last summer I began studying Spanish.
I have been working for Mesa Valley County School District 51 for three years and taking various classes at Mesa State College. In 2009, I received my Colorado Teaching License for the Secondary Level with endorsements to teach Science, Social Studies.
I believe that life is not just about sitting and planning rather it is more importantly, about going out and implementing.
